I see Your love in every smile that I see
Your majesty in the heavens displayed.
Your grace as deep as the oceans and the seas
Your mercy floods over me.

Come wait my soul
Come and find rest

And you will soar on the wings of an eagle
And you will find rest in the shadow of His wing
And you will know without doubt or reservation;
He is Love
He is Love
He is Love

I don’t know how but I know You are there
And that You listen to my prayer
When all gets dark and I can’t see Your face
I’ll put my trust in Your grace

Why I wrote this …

You know, God is love. This thought rattles my mind every single time I think of it.

You see I am in the same mindset of the Psalmist who says “Who is man that You are mindful of him?” Why does the God of the universe even concern Himself with us? I know the answer: simply because He made us for himself. He is concerned for, cares about and loves us because He made us! But I don’t understand why. I don’t know if I could love people who kept on turning their back on me.

But God does. He is passionate about us and desires us to have a relationship with Him. IT BLOWS MY MIND. Most of the songs I write either mention something of God’s love or talk about how He shows or has shown His love. I try to see God’s love in everything. And God is clearly seen in all that He has made.

So I wrote this song thinking on God’s love, and that amazing verse “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” in Isaiah. I remember distinctly when writing this tearing up on when I sang the line “He is Love” the third time. I could just feel God pouring out His love as I sang it. I shared it at Church recently and it blessed a few folks there, so hopefully it will bless you too.
