Our Children’s Eyes
What will our children see
When time has past and as seasons flee
Just what will be their thoughts
On the decisions we made, which changes to their life have brought
Will we see in their eyes grattitude?
For all the words we spoke and all that we did do
Or anger and resentment
For all we neglected and failed to do?
Will they look back with a fond love?
For the signicance and impact that we had
Or will they fear to look back for in their reminiscing
All their dread and fears are reminded
What are we leaving for our children?
What memories and moments will we etch in time?
Times that will build and shape and mould?
Or moments of despair and hurt and gloom?
Let us go through our lives remembering this one thing
All our decisions we may whimsically make, the future they are shaping.
May we continually cast our minds eye forward and ask of our selves
“In my childs eyes what difference am I making?”
