Precious Moments

You will never fully understand
How much I cherish the moments that we share
As time goes on and fills so quickly
How much fewer these moments are spare

Spare to spend laughing and joking
Sharing stories of our days
Spare to spend crying and comforting
Sharing a warm embrace

There is simply not the same time that we once had to share
As we’ve grown and walked life’s path
So few are the moments now that are spare.

Spare to just be who we are with each other
With no need for pretence
Spare to know we are mutually loved and respected
And in that be confident

But should these moments become rarer still
With all my heart and mind and soul and will
Will I count these moments more precious than gold,
For that is the value of these precious moments which I hold.

Heaven forbid, should they cease
If life should separate our paths completely,
I would lose more than words could explain.
Precious moments with you, my dear, dear friend.

A single thought

A single thought reminds me Of the sin that bound me And of the grace that freed me to live a life of love A single word sustains me When this world discourages me It reminds and affirms in me of my Saviour's love A single act done selflessly reminds me of His mercy...
